The item is an original WILL VINTON CALIFORNIA RAISIN CLAY CLAYMATION STOP MOTION PUPPET of the character Hendrix. It was created at the Oscar and Emmy winning Will Vinton Studios. Its made of clay with a metal wire structure beneath to make it poseable. This particular one is missing a hand and part of both feet from filming use making the commercials. The California Raisins are very recongizable Advertising Icons. During the height of their popularity commercials, a cartoon, toys, and even a video game was made in their honor. The California Raisins are not the concept of any one company like most advertising characters instead it was created by a Raisin Industry group to promote the sale of raisins overall.
